USAMMA Medical Logistics Management Internship (MLMIP) Program

Mission
To provide mid-career medical logistics officers, warrant officers, and noncommissioned officers with advanced medical logistics training dealing with focused logistics and supply chain management principles, and to expose these interns to successful Department of Defense and civilian health logistics business practices and technologies in order to incorporate these practices in to their future assignments.

Vision
To provide the logistics interns insight in to all aspects of the support health care environment, specifically to expose them to the six essential program elements of Advanced Technology, Business Practices and Management Techniques, DOD and Civilian Health Care Organizations, DOD/DA Systems and Processes (Procurement), Medical Logistics Support, and Materiel Acquisition.

 

Admission

OFFICERS (Army, Air Force, Navy):

  • Active/Reserve Medical Logistics Officer (70K67) (VI or RA status) and Lab/Pharmacy Officers--Does not require MEDLOG experience or 8B-70K67 training
  • 2 Years Logistics Experience
  • Completed the Medical Logistics Management Course (8B-70K67) or Service Equivalent
  • Completed Captains Career Course
  • 5 to 10 Years Commissioned Service
  • Secret clearance
  • PCS eligible

WARRANT OFFICERS (CW2 or CW3):

  • Active/Reserve Commissioned Warrant Officer (670A)
  • Associate's Degree
  • Completed the Medical Logistics Management Course (8B-70K67) or Service Equivalent
  • Completed Warrant Officer Advanced Course
  • 2 Years Retention, upon completion
  • Secret clearance
  • PCS eligible

NONCOMMISSIONED OFFICERS (SSG or SFC):

  • Active/Reserve Noncommissioned Officer Medical Logistics Specialty (MOS 68J/68A)
  • Completed Service Advanced Training Course (waiverable)
  • 3 years Medical Logistics Experience (preferred)
  • 6 semester hours of English
  • Written Letter of Recommendation
  • 2 Years Retention, upon completion
  • Secret clearance
  • PCS eligible
