Welcome to the U.S. Army Medical Materiel Agency (USAMMA) web site/page. We are headquartered at Fort Detrick, Maryland, with critical satellite medical maintenance operations and forward centrally managed prepositioned materiel sites located across the United States and overseas. The command performs important materiel acquisition project management and sustainment missions in support of the strategic level missions and transformation goals of the Military Health System, US Army, and Army Medicine.

We support the medical treatment facilities (MTFs) and more heavily the military medical field organizations (MTOE) across most functional areas: veterinary, preventive medicine, dental, hospitalization, area support (Roles 1 & 2), evacuation, medical laboratory, and combat stress control. A key element of USAMMA’s wartime support is the deployment of Medical Logistics Support Teams to issue centrally managed materiel during contingency operations.

Our various stakeholders, suppliers-partners, and customer base include Army, Defense, Federal, Allied, and Industrial institutions and agencies. Our many products and services include a wide-array of sets, kits, and outfits, medical technologies and equipment, biomedical maintenance, and technical expertise/knowledge. As a generating force (institutional Army) command, we also strive for greater effectiveness and constantly improving efficiencies (economies). To that end, we practice sound internal controls and safety, organizational quality (performance excellence), best business practices using enterprise systems, focused collaboration, and organizational learning.
